Reliance Jio president Mathew Oommen said on Tuesday that it has locally developed and tested a fifth-generation radio access network (RAN) that is capable of transferring data at more than a gigabit per second.
With Qualcomm technology and support, Reliance Jio has indigenously developed a 5G (RAN) product that has achieved over 1 GB/s of throughput.” Mathew Oommen said, at a virtual event hosted in the US.
According to Mathew Oommen, the product, is already tested and validated by a top carrier in the US. Qualcomm Ventures has recently invested Rs.730 crores for a 0.15per cent stake in Reliance Jio Platforms.
