After the Coal Ministry gave approval for mining lease to four licence applicants in Meghalaya,Coal mining is set to resume in the state after 9 years, CM Conrad K Sangma said. He added the mining will follow scientific procedures ensuring minimal environmental impact.The National Green Tribunal had imposed a blanket ban on coal mining in Meghalaya in 2014.
