Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Wednesday said that the retail central bank digital currency (CBDC) pilot, launched on December 1, 2022, has more than 50,000 users and 5,000 merchants. The project has witnessed 7.70 lakh transactions so far. “We have our targets in terms of users, in terms of merchants. We will go slowly,” RBI deputy governor said.
